Hi  there, hope you are having a great evening, perhaps relaxing, having a glass wine…. or waiting patiently for my post :):):) ( a girl can dream right?:)

If you have been reading my writings, you have begun to see that I don’t really do things in a conventional manner. I break rules; I see my clients as beautiful people that I am passionate about helping… not just another step to success, as you see so often in the styling/fashion industry. I work from an authentic place, not just the current trends. I am influenced by classic, timeless designs that are feminine and modern. So, here today, you will see how I use the term” Ready to Wear” in a wardrobe sense… hasn’t really been done before… but it is proven to be quite successful!:)

I have stepped into many  closets, that my client was completely overwhelmed with what to do…. too much stuff, never wearing any of it, and the thought of going through it….exasperating! Can you relate???  So, over the years, I needed to find a quick and instant solution for that stressful feeling….. and here it is!!

Ready to wear, from a designer’s perspective, is factory made clothing that is literally “ready to wear”… no tailoring, more affordable, and can be produced in a factory rather than hand sewn. It is truly “off the rack”. Chanel, Gucci, Marc Jacobs to name a few all have ready to wear collections:)

OK, now that we are done with the fashion lesson…. here is where my inspiration came from. I design a section of every closet as the “ready to wear” section.  We do it first, it’s client led, it relieves stress instantly; and my clients know that no matter what comes up … they have this one section to go to.  They will be fabulous, they will be confident, and they can breathe a little better! They can take it off the hanger, and be ready in a jiffy!ready-to-wear

It’s pretty simple, it’s the place in your closet that  holds all your confident pieces… it has your best jeans, best tops, perfect LBD, those pants that fit perfectly, that top that you get complimented on every time you wear it, your cocktail dress that you can dance the night away in, shoes that are comfortable and simple…. you see where I a going with this:) I do this for 2 reasons, my clients love it, and it gives us a starting place. Once we connect this part of their wardrobe, the other pieces begin to fall into place. It’s almost as if this visual connection sparks their own style and creativity!! I LOVE IT!!!!

This is NOT the place where your comfy pants are, those pieces you cover up and hide in…. this is where YOU are… the best version of you. This is the timeless part of you. You know that no matter what you pull from that section, you are ready to conquer the world!!!

To give you a bit more insight… I am going to break down what’s in my ready to wear section: ( I wear SO much black, it’s me … I fully embrace it:)

  1. 2 of my favorite BCBG dresses that I know I have 3 different looks from each.
  2. A BCBG Blazer that goes with jeans, dresses, skirts… basically whatever I need it to go with.
  3. My Tory Burch High Waisted Dark Denim Jeans
  4. A white oxford shirt
  5. A white shirt dress
  6. A gray sweater
  7. 2 Nicole Miller LBD’s
  8.  1 navy and 1 black 3/4 length sweater that hits perfectly at my waist.
  9. Grey Steve Madden Boots
  10. Black Stilettos
  11. Ted Baker Dressy Shoes
  12. Silver Metallic Flats
  13. My black leather waist cinching belt… we have to keep that silhouette in place ladies!

This is what I have for those mornings I am running late, feeling hormonal:), have an unexpected meeting, or when I just need to feel confident and pulled together in a flash!

I hope this inspires you to make a ready to wear section… even if your closet is completely color coordinated, and the thought of this freaks you out:)…. breathe a little, do it,  just do it for yourself:)

If you ever need help determining what goes in that section… I am your girl:)

I hope you found this helpful, please let me know what you think! As for me, I am going to go eat those pumpkin paleo bars that are calling my name:):)

Much Love,

Your Terah Elizabeth xoxo
