Hello, it’s me again…. talking to you about one of my favorite makeup looks! Glowing skin, a classic red lip, and sparkly liner:)
The holidays are coming, and this is the perfect look for ANY holiday party !! You can easily do a nude lip during the day, and switch to a red lipstick for the evening for instant glamour.
We are all about simplicity and glamour over here at Terah Elizabeth, so here are a few glamour changing tips and my favorite products:
YSL Touche Eclat: This foundation is just the perfect formula for any skin tone. It turns imperfections into radiant skin, with a lit from within glow. It photographs perfectly every time. If you tend to get oily; I lay an oil control or oil free primer first. DO NOT get the foundation brush they sell with it… you will be sorely disappointed.
I find this formula is complimented best with a beauty blender, or stippling brush. I use 2 pumps when I stipple ( gently patting/pushing makeup into the skin) and 2 for the beauty blender. You will find the beauty blender gives lighter coverage, and stippling gives medium coverage. This is a buildable formula, so ALWAYS shake it first, and play with the coverage you like. For evening looks and events, I never leave without medium coverage, so stippling is quickest for me, but you can use the beauty blender to build to medium coverage as well!
TE money saving tip: This foundation is not inexpensive, although it lasts forever.. it is an investment. I purchase mine at a cosmetics outlet for 40.00, which is an EXCELLENT price! You can also go to their site, and sign up for their emails which will save you ten percent immediately. They do send emails letting you know when everything on the whole site is TWENTY percent off!!! This is why you need me in your life:):):)
Red Lipstick: Tom Ford Slander and Chanel Paris (Rouge Coco Line)
I can’t talk enough about these formulas! I lean towards the Chanel for longest wear, but Tom Ford is a really close second. They are both creamy, hydrating and long lasting. I haven’t had a face that the Chanel or Tom Ford formula didn’t look beautiful on! The Chanel Paris is a true blue based red that makes any skin tone come alive, and your teeth look whiter:) I turn these into Matte Formulas (sometimes) by applying one coat lipstick, blotting with a tissue, press and roll a super fine setting powder onto the lips with a sponge tip eye applicator, re apply lipstick, and blot again… if you want more matte, repeat powder step again. Not only will this process mattify the formula, it will last EVEN LONGER… as in all night long, through the mistletoe, wine and whatever else you want to get yourself into:):):)
Chanel Illusion d’Ombre Long-Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Mirifique
TE trick: I use an angled liner brush, and do a soft cateye liner with this shadow. Why you ask?
Well, I am so glad you did…. BECAUSE this is the darkest black with a multi colored shimmer/silver sparkle BUILT INTO IT! This means it makes your eyes sparkle without you actually seeing sparkle in the shadow. It lays immediately smoked out, so you don’t have to hassle with that! It stays ALL night, and I love it because it takes away the harshness of a liner, yet adding the definition we all seek with a liner! You can also apply as it is intended 🙂 and it is BEAUTIFUL!!!
Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner In The Buff ( champagne shimmer):
I use this in the inner and outer corners of my eyes by drawing and open triangle and blending. You will look AWAKE in a minute ( which is essential for evening events) and it’s also waterproof and lasts ALL NIGHT!
So there you have it!!! If you are going to wear a LBD to any holiday parties, accentuate it perfectly with simple glamour!
xoxo
