Hi There! It’s me again:)

I met with a couple clients today, and one of them is a new client!  We discussed a certain neckline that she is drawn to, but was told it is too bulky for her petite frame. Now, there is a certain amount of truth to what she was told, but there is also total fallacy. This is the area, I see so many ladies get confused  on, so I am here to help!

You see, it’s not always the neckline, it’s the material and weight/texture of the fabric. For example, if you wear a chunky sweater, and big plaid scarf tied at your neckline.. you are going to add heaviness to your look, particularly if you are a woman with a larger bust line. Just because you saw Susie Q, on Pinterest, rocking that out, doesn’t mean it works for everyone… that’s exactly why you need some Terah Elizabeth in your life:):):):)But seriously, here is the solution for that feeling you have; that for some reason you look or feel bulky… but can’t quite figure out what it is that makes you feel that way?

You see, in your effort to “hide” or “cover up” you are actually adding more “weight” literally. So, I would teach a client to wear a thin, V neck T shirt ( some skin will show) with a silhouette cut into it… what’s that you ask??? Ok, since you asked:)  Hold up the T shirt, if if has no shape, and looks like the lines of a box, that’s exactly what it is going to look like on your body. This goes for shirts, pants, dresses … all of it. You want to look for an hourglass shape cut into the design! You can take it a step further, and look for asymmetrical hemlines or necklines to create the illusion of what we may not actually have in that particular area:) You always appear narrower, and lengthened if you do the “silhouette test”

You can create more uniqueness to your look, by picking pieces with cutouts,  straps, lace detail, unique fabrics, etc.  I am a total fan of sheer fabric placed appropriately:)

So, before you go buying anything else…

1.First, FIND OUT what you LOVE! Stick to that, don’t buy it because you saw someone else wearing it, and you want to look like them.

2.ALWAYS do the silhouette test!

3.Second, look for unique fabrics, added texture, unique embroidery, necklines and hemlines!

In the above picture, if there were no detail and cutouts, she would appear broader shouldered, and you definitely  wouldn’t have stopped to take note of her dress:) Do you see where I am going with this?

3.Stay away from 2 bulky pieces at a time.. do ONE, and keep the rest fitted!

Now, go get an A+ on your shopping test:)

Much Love,

Your Terah Elizabeth xoxo
